Evolution of Printer

Printer Evolution

What is Printer?
A device that must be connected to a computer which allows a user to print items on paper, such as letters and pictures. It can also work with digital cameras to prints directly without the use of a computer.

Olden Day Printers

Gutenberg Printing Press
  • Revolutionary invention greatly increased the speed at which books were printed.
  • These wooden machines had to be manually operated, and even the ink had to applied to the text-blocks manually.

Dye-Sublimation Printer

  • Producing photo-quality prints.
  • Process works by transferring heat to   a ribbon with 3 coloured panels and a  clear overcoat layer (cyan, magenta,  yellow, overcoat layer).
  • 2.5 minutes to print one photo.

   Lately Printers

Laser Printer
  • Produce high quality prints at a very rapid pace, and these printers tend to have a relatively long life span.
  • Electrostatic digital printing process that rapidly produces high quality text and graphics by passing a laser beam over a charged drum to define a differentially charged image.

Inkjet Printer
  • Inexpensive, produce quality imagery, and they are relatively speedy.
  • First mass-produced consumer inkjet printers was the HP DeskJet in 1988.

Fine Art Digital Photo Printer
  • Began back in 1991 in order to produce high quality.
  • Large-size photos such as posters and other artistic prints.
  • Large-scale inkjet printer that printed A0 size paper.

Portable Printer

  • Can be carried around easily.
  • Can carried under the shoulder.
  • Allow us work anywhere.

Future Printer
3D Printer
  • Making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model.
  • Used for both prototyping and distributed manufacturing with applications in architecture, design, engineering, food and many other fields.

This is the example of products for 3D Printer

Keyboard Evolution

===  Evolution of Keyboard  ===

What is Keyboard???
External input devices used to type data into some sort of computer system whether it be a mobile device, a personal computer, or another electronic machine.

 Typewriter

  • The invention of the modern computer keyboard began with the invention of the typewriter. Christopher Latham Sholes designed the typewriter that we commonly use today in 1868.
  • The Remington Company mass marketed the first typewriters starting in 1877.

Clicky keyboard

  • A class of computer keyboard manufactured by IBM, Lexmark, Unicomp and MaxiSwitch, starting in 1984.
  • There are many different variations of the keyboard have their own distinct characteristics, with the vast majority having a buckling spring key design and many having fully swappable key-carp.

 Foldable Keyboard

  • Full-size keyboard that folds in half , and easy to bring it to everywhere and use less space.
  • A tab key on the number pad allows one-handed number entry into forms and spreadsheets, leaving your other hand free to hold or flip through information being entered.

 Wireless solar keyboard

  • It is a solar-powered keyboard, and can become fully charged even by low levels of ambient light, such as a lamp.
  • The layout of dedicated Mac-specific keys, such as eject, brightness, and command. The keys are concave in shape to assist typing speed and accuracy, and also designed to be reasonably quiet.

Advanced Keyboard in Future:

Virtual Laser Keyboard

  • The power of laser and infrared technology and projects a full-size keyboard on any flat surface.
  • When we type on the laser projection, detection technology based on optical recognition enables the user to tap the images of the keys, complete with realistic tapping sounds, which feed into the compatible Bluetooth-enabled PDA, Smartphone, laptop or PC.
